While I definitely want to keep up the battles up between liquid lipsticks, these are in a whole category of their own, so for today there will be no battle - just a whole lotta info on these bad boys!
Too Faced is definitely one of my ALL TIME favourite brands. I have countless products from them that I absolutely love and the Melted Matte Liquified Lipsticks are some of them!
Texture and consistency: This is by far one of the most comfortable liquid lipsticks I think I’ve ever worn. It glides on smoothly and dries very matte. In saying that, it’s never dried my lips out and it feels comfortable throughout the entire wear.
Application: I love to cover the perimeter of my lips before filling in the gaps. I find this to be the easiest way to achieve the shape I want. The formula glides on very easily, I wouldn't say it’s quite as slippery as a gloss, but definitely not far from it! Until it dries completely matte. The sponge tip applicator is the perfect shape for achieving a flawless outline.
Wear: These can be worn for long or short periods of time with complete ease. I’ve had a couple of days where I have worn the Melted Matte liquid lipstick for an excessive amount of time and in this case I’ve just touched it up slightly where needed. Melted Mattes stay matte and comfortable, and unless you suffer from severely dry, cracked lips, they don’t seem to crack at all. You can hardly notice them on your lips, the formula isn’t sticky or overly drying.
Removal: I’ve started using drops of oil (such as Rosehip) on baby wipes to remove liquid lipsticks quickly and effortlessly. The oil also leaves your lips feeling nourished straight after removal.
Colours: I’ve counted 17 shades in the range so far and I’m pretty sure I own most of them! They range from deep cherry black, to bubblegum pink, sapphire blue, nude and a bunch of colours in between! I’ve become addicted to wearing ‘Mrs Roper’ which is described as a bright tangerine shade. It’s very bright but I find it flattering and easy to wear.

On their website, Too Faced show each Melted Matte on two models with completely different skin colours. This is incredibly helpful when trying to choose your favourite shade!
Packaging: This packaging is so bomb! It’s totally different to other Melted Lipsticks by Too Faced. You can easily see the colour of the liquid lipstick through a clear tube, and the tube itself is a unique design. It features bold, gold writing and lid and it’s just gorgeous. It’s also survived many days and nights out in my handbag without being ruined!
Price: Melted Mattes are priced at $31AUD from Mecca Maxima. I’m perfectly happy to pay that for a product that I really do get a ton of wear out of.
Any issues: You will become OBSESSED with these and you’ll want every single shade! That’s only an issue if you’ve given yourself a shopping budget, haha!
Tips: With most liquid lipsticks and particularly matte formulas, I would suggest only applying one layer. This equals the most seamless result. However, I have touched up with these in small areas a couple of times and haven’t had any problems with it.
Where to buy: These are available on the Too Faced website with shipping available to the US, UK, Ireland, Mexico & Canada. For us Aussies, we can purchase them from Mecca Maxima or Mecca online from TODAY! August 23. Update: I’ve just jumped onto mecca.com.au and have seen only 3 shades available - but I’m sure this will be updated with the full range soon!
This is one of my fave shades - Mrs Roper.
Delivery: Being based in Australia, I haven’t experienced shopping on the Too Faced website, however I’ve shopped from Mecca online countless times and delivery is always fast. It costs a flat rate of $10AUD to deliver within Australia if you’ve spent less than $75, but it’s free express shipping for purchases over $75.
If you've stuck around long enough to read this, well done you! Otherwise, I'm assuming you've left so you can start 'adding to cart' - which I totally understand.
